Due to contamination control issues, Magna instituted a policy instructing maintenance managers to change the hydraulic oil in their injection moulding machines every year, regardless of condition. .

Upon investigation, Triple R’s expertise and solutions-based approach confirmed contamination was causing:

  • A noisy main pump on one of the injection moulding machines
  • “Sticky” proportional valves in the majority of the machines

Even with this policy they were still experiencing contamination related issues.

Continuous purification using BU-100 Housings installed directly onto the high pressure lines; bleed off a small amount of oil, clean it, and then return to tank. The elements used were M-series, which provide cleaner than new oil. When dealing with any sort of valve issues you need the cleanest oil possible as the tolerances between moving parts is extremely small. Any contamination will cause malfunctions and unnecessary wear and tear on these expensive and sensitive components, as Magna was experiencing.
